Subnautica 2 Console Commands: Unlocking God Mode, Blueprints, and Resource-Free Crafting in Early Access
In the recently launched early access version of Subnautica 2, modders have quickly unveiled a hidden debug console, providing players with advanced control over their gameplay experience. While an official debug console is not yet integrated, community-created modifications allow access to a range of powerful cheats. This functionality lets players activate invincibility, instantly create items, unlock all schematics, and bypass resource requirements for crafting, offering a new dimension to exploration and survival in the game.
To enable these enhanced features, players must first install two specific mods. The initial step involves acquiring and setting up UE4SS for Subnautica 2. This mod serves as the foundational framework, allowing the game to recognize and process additional modifications. After downloading, players need to locate their game's installation directory, typically found by right-clicking the game in their Steam library, navigating to 'manage,' and then selecting 'browse local files.' The UE4SS files are then extracted into the '\Subnautica2\Subnautica2\Binaries\Win64' folder.
Following the successful installation of UE4SS, the next step is to download the Console Commands mod. This mod, specifically designed for Subnautica 2, is then extracted into the '\Subnautica2\Subnautica2\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods' directory. Once both mods are correctly placed, launching Subnautica 2 will integrate these new capabilities. During gameplay, pressing the 'F2' key will reveal the command console interface, displaying various clickable options for immediate use, such as spawning items, toggling survival needs like hunger and oxygen, and expanding inventory slots. Additionally, players can manually input specific commands to activate cheats like 'god' mode, which grants invulnerability and negates the need for food, water, or oxygen. The 'invisible' command makes players undetectable to hostile creatures, while 'nocost' allows for crafting and processing without consuming any materials. Typing 'unlock all' instantly grants access to every recipe, blueprint, and journal entry in the game. Furthermore, commands like 'night' and 'day' can alter the in-game time cycle, and 'daynight #' allows for precise time setting. The 'FOV #' command adjusts the field of view to a specified number, such as 'FOV 100'. Players can also use 'item [name] [amount]' to add desired quantities of specific items to their inventory, for example, 'item lithium 5' to acquire five units of lithium. The 'oxygen' command stabilizes oxygen levels, preventing both increase and decrease, and 'togglehud' hides the heads-up display for a more immersive experience.
While a significant number of commands are already functional, certain commands like 'Goto,' 'Fastswim,' 'Noclip,' 'Fly,' and 'Warp' are present in the game's code but are currently inactive, even with the installed mods. These features might become accessible with future official updates. Unknown Worlds, the developers, have indicated their intent to introduce official console commands and FOV adjustment options during Subnautica 2's early access period. According to game design lead Anthony Gallegos, the development team is actively planning these additions and is working to determine the optimal timing for their release, ensuring they are accessible to all players, regardless of their platform.
