Arc Raiders Unleashes Massive 'Riven Tides' Update with New Map and Enemies
Embark Studios has rolled out its most substantial update yet for the game Arc Raiders, named "Riven Tides." This significant expansion brings forth a wealth of new content, most notably the debut of a brand-new map that promises to reshape player experiences. This is the first map introduced since the "North Line" update in November 2025, which featured Stella Montis, and it's set to captivate players with its distinct environment and challenges.
The centerpiece of this update is the "Riven Tides" map, a picturesque beach-themed locale. It boasts a sweeping coastline, the once-opulent Panorama Azzurro Resort, a functional dock, and remnants of old Exodus structures ripe for exploration and scavenging. Beyond the scenic beauty of these new areas, the update introduces an engaging activity: "Beachcombing." This unique map condition, exclusive to the holiday-themed setting, allows players to seek out hidden treasures using the "Dockmaster's Detector." This new mechanic evokes a sense of nostalgic adventure, inviting players to comb the sands in hopes of discovering valuable loot rather than mere trinkets. Furthermore, players will face a formidable new adversary, the "Arc Turbine." This colossal, hovering enemy, reminiscent of an ice cream cone, is equipped with robust defensive capabilities. Classified as a large Arc, it is expected to provide a challenge on par with the game's existing formidable foes, the Queen and Matriarch.
Complementing these additions are several interconnected system enhancements and events. The "Avian Alarm" project is a five-stage undertaking where players construct a bird cage, harnessing avian insights to monitor seismic activity. Successful completion yields Raider Tokens, the Bird House backpack attachment, and the crucial Dockmaster's Detector for Beachcombing. Additionally, a limited-time "Last Resort" event, running from April 28 to May 25, transforms earned XP from all matches into Merits. These Merits unlock a three-page reward track, offering Raider Tokens, the Junior outfit, and the Hydrologist backpack. Players can also accumulate Merits by locating miniature Ship Models hidden across the maps. System-wise, the latest "Expedition" window, launching alongside "Riven Tides," now rewards players for battling robots rather than merely collecting valuables. The "Trials" system also sees a revamp, addressing previous scheduling frustrations to ensure a smoother, more enjoyable competitive experience. Other new features include the Crashpad and Powered Descender items, additional quests, and fresh cosmetic options, enriching the game's overall depth and replayability.
